Privacy Policy for AutoReply Mate
Last Updated: May 23, 2026
1. Introduction
AutoReply Mate ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our automatic messaging reply service.
Key Privacy Commitment: AutoReply Mate does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal messages, contacts, or notification data with any third parties or external servers. All processing happens locally on your device.
2. Permissions Usage
2.1 Notification Listener Service (Primary Method)
Why We Use Notification Listener Permission:
AutoReply Mate primarily uses Android's Notification Listener Service API to read incoming message notifications
from messaging apps (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, SMS, Telegram, Signal, Viber, and others)
in order to automatically send predefined text replies based on your configured rules.
How It Works:
- Reading Notifications: When you receive a message notification, the Notification Listener Service reads the sender's name and message content.
- Local Processing: The app matches the message against your custom rules (keywords, senders, time conditions) entirely on your device.
- Automatic Reply: If a rule matches, the app sends your predefined reply through the messaging app's notification action.
- No Storage: Message content is processed in memory and immediately discarded. Nothing is saved to disk or sent to any server.
Important: You can disable the Notification Listener Service at any time by going to:
Android Settings → Apps → Special access → Notification access → AutoReply Mate → Turn OFF
2.2 Accessibility Service (Fallback Method)
Why We Use Accessibility Service:
On some devices (particularly Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung), the Notification Listener Service may be restricted or disabled by the manufacturer.
In these cases, AutoReply Mate offers an optional Accessibility Service as a fallback method to detect incoming messages.
What the Accessibility Service Does:
- Message Detection: Monitors the screen for incoming message notifications from supported messaging apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS, Telegram, Signal, Viber).
- Content Extraction: Reads the sender name and message text displayed on screen to trigger automatic replies.
- Limited Scope: ONLY monitors the specific messaging apps you use. Does NOT monitor any other apps, screens, or system content.
- No Data Collection: Message content is processed in real-time and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored, logged, or transmitted.
Important Privacy Notes:
- ✅ The Accessibility Service is OPTIONAL - you only enable it if Notification Listener doesn't work on your device
- ✅ You must explicitly grant this permission after reading a detailed disclosure dialog
- ✅ The service only accesses messaging apps - it does NOT monitor your keyboard, passwords, banking apps, or other sensitive content
- ✅ All processing happens locally on your device - no data is sent to any server
- ✅ You can disable it at any time in:
Android Settings → Accessibility → AutoReply Mate → Turn OFF
Which Permission Should You Use?
• Notification Listener Service: Recommended for most users (works on all Android devices)
• Accessibility Service: Only enable if Notification Listener is restricted on your device
